Now celebrating our 25th anniversary as one of the nation's leading healthcare quality evaluation and improvement organizations, IPRO operates in more than 30 states. We are a non-profit organization with 400 employees and annual revenues in excess of $50 million.
While maintaining a leadership role in New York as the state's Medicare-funded Quality Improvement Organization and the Medicaid-funded Utilization Review Agent, we have branched out into a number of other important areas. We hold the End Stage Renal Disease Network contract for New York, and oversee the quality of inpatient and outpatient services provided to HIV patients across our state. We monitor our state's Early Intervention providers, who offer services to infants and children, and we also audit adherence to work hours requirements by physicians-in-training at academic medical centers across the state.
Outside of New York, we conduct independent reviews of coverage appeals lodged by consumers in 13 states. Additionally, we provide Medicaid-funded managed care quality oversight support to state governments in New York, Kentucky, Pennsylvania and Nebraska.
We are proud of our corporate commitment to improving what we do for our customers. This commitment is more than a collection of high-sounding words and phrases; the collaborator and customer surveys we conduct each year demonstrate consistently high levels of satisfaction, while the surveys our employees fill out anonymously each year position us as industry leaders, when measured against our peers. We worked hard to achieve and then renew our ISO 9001:2000 certification, a customer-centered approach to demonstrating committment to continuous improvement in all that we do.
Our external appeals review program was among the first to be accredited by the Utilization Review Accreditation Commission and our award-winning family of corporate Web sites now attracts upwards of 750,000 visitors a year. We are proud of the leading-edge quality improvement website we designed and now host for the Commonwealth Fund (www.whynotthebest.org).
As we celebrate 25 years of growth and innovation, it's worth remembering that organizations rise and fall on the basis of the commitment of their employees. At IPRO we are pleased to have a workforce of physicians, nurses, improvement managers, analysts, programmers, and support professionals that is second to none.
