IPRO has achieved its third consecutive ISO certification, an international quality management standard focused on fulfilling customer requirements, enhancing customer satisfaction and continually improving business performance. Certification to ISO 9001:2008 by SGS International Certification Services means IPRO’s Quality Management System (QMS) has passed a rigorous external audit encompassing operations at its offices in Lake Success and Albany, New York as well as at its affiliate Logiqual, LLC. The three-year certification follows two previous certifications by SGS.
A nationally-recognized, non-profit with annual revenues in excess of $55 million, IPRO’s QMS has been assessed and certified as meeting the requirements of ISO 9001:2008 for the provision of healthcare services including the design, development and implementation of Medicare and Medicaid quality improvement and assessment activities; utilization review; external appeals; data collection; analysis and validation; special studies; consulting and e-services for Federal, State and local government agencies, managed care organizations and private sector clients. IPRO’s Lake Success and Albany offices as well as Logiqual LLC, an affiliate are covered under the QMS. IPRO’s recertification is valid through November 2012.
“The certification in conjunction with IPRO’s high rates for customer satisfaction continues to demonstrate our strong commitment to quality service,” says Theodore O. Will, MPA, FACHE, Chief Executive Officer, IPRO.
To obtain certification, auditors from SGS International Certification Services-the leading independent registrar providing ISO registration services to healthcare organizations- visited IPRO’s offices in Lake Success and Albany, New York to obtain objective evidence about its quality management system. SGS conducted staff interviews, reviewed documented procedures and records and observed real-time work processes.
“It’s one thing for an organization to promote the excellence of its quality management program,” according to Eileen Scott, RN, BSN, CPHQ, Senior Director and Quality Management Representative, IPRO. “It’s quite another to have that program validated by external experts. We are very pleased to have reached this milestone in the same year our organization celebrates its 25th anniversary.”
