Wendy Ferguson, Vice President, Federal and State Healthcare Assessment, has been with IPRO since 1999. In her current role, she has oversight of NYS Medicaid and AIDS Institute review programs, and Independent Review programs across multiple states. She also oversees several Federal programs including Veterans appeals, and activities related to IPRO’s role as an Independent Review Entity for the CMS governance of the “No Surprises Act.”
Previous positions within IPRO include serving as Associate Vice President, State Healthcare Assessment and the New York State AIDS Intervention Management System (AIMS) Review Program, Director of Special Projects and Senior Director of Medicaid State Healthcare Assessment. In these roles, she was responsible for directing utilization review operations, providing technical assistance to facilities and supporting New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) contracts associated with HIV treatment and prevention, perinatal infectious disease, COVID-19 and quality review.
Ms. Ferguson is a healthcare professional with clinical and oversight experience in acute, community and home health settings, as well as clinical management and health sciences education in the United States, Australia and South East Asia. She was trained as a registered nurse in Australia and received her bachelor of arts degree and diploma in education from the University of Sydney, in Australia.
