RE: CLARIFICATION IN REGARD TO IPRO MEDICARE ADMINISTRATIVE MEMORANDUM #2012-03: CHANGES TO CENTERS FOR MEDICARE AND MEDICAID SERVICES (CMS) NON-HOSPITAL NOTICES OF NONCOVERAGE

The purpose of this Memorandum is to clarify that while IPRO’s Medicare Administrative Memorandum #2012-03 was sent to IPRO contacts at all New York State providers, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) notices referenced do not pertain to patients in the acute hospital setting. The notices are intended for use in non-hospital settings, i.e., skilled nursing, home health, hospice and comprehensive outpatient rehabilitation facilities (CORFs).

We apologize for any confusion this may have caused. Should you have any questions please contact Fran Gordon at 516 209-5304.
