IPRO Employee Robert Accetta Appointed to National Healthcare Quality Improvement Work Group

Lake Success, NY, October 7, 2024 – Robert Accetta, RPh, BCGP, FASCP, Senior Pharmacist at IPRO, has been appointed to serve on the Partnership for Quality Measurement’s (PQM) Pre-Rulemaking Measure Review (PRMR) committee, specifically the Post-Acute Care & Long-Term Care Advisory Group, for a three-year term from August 2024 through May 2027.

The Partnership for Quality Measurement plays a pivotal role in shaping and reviewing healthcare quality measures across various care settings. The PQM is a consensus-based entity certified by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to bring together experts in healthcare quality improvement to endorse quality measures. Committee members include a variety of experts such as clinicians, patients, measure experts, and health information technology specialists. The Pre-Rulemaking Measure Review (PRMR) process is conducted annually to offer its recommendations to CMS on the selection of quality measures under consideration for adoption. Through collaborative input, the committee ensures that measures accurately reflect current standards and improve patient outcomes.

As an Advisory Group member, Accetta will play a critical role in reviewing and assessing quality measures that impact post-acute and long-term care. His input will help guide discussions and shape recommendations that influence future healthcare policy and quality standards.

“It is an honor to have the opportunity to play a role in helping to impact healthcare policy decisions that ultimately benefit Medicare beneficiaries across the country,” said Accetta.

Accetta is one of three IPRO employees to serve on a PRMR committee. He joins Teresa Lubowski, PharmD, CPHQ, Director, Medication Safety, who serves on the PRMR Clinician Advisory Group, and Nikolas Matthes, MD, PhD, MPH, MSc, Assistant Vice President, Data and Analytics, who serves on the PRMR Hospital Advisory Group.

“We are proud of Rob’s appointment to the PRMR committee,” said Ted Will, CEO of IPRO. “This gives IPRO representation on all three PRMR Advisory Groups, which underscores our company’s national recognition as experts in healthcare quality improvement.”
