Jericho, N.Y. – IPRO was recently awarded a contract from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to serve as the Quality Innovation Network-Quality Improvement Organization (QIN-QIO) program for the 13th Statement of Work in the Northeast Region (Region 1), which encompasses Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. Previously, IPRO had been named the QIN-QIO for the Mid-Atlantic Region (Region 2) which includes Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia and Washington, DC.
Under these contracts, IPRO will work directly with nursing homes, hospitals, and outpatient clinical practices to improve the quality and safety of care for 24 percent of the nation’s Medicare beneficiaries. Both contract terms run through May 2030.
IPRO will perform this work with two subcontractors – Healthcentric Advisors, based in Rhode Island, and Qlarant, based in Maryland. Together, the three companies’ multidisciplinary teams of experienced healthcare quality improvement specialists will provide direct technical assistance and resources, advanced data analytics support, evidence-based intervention recommendations, and customized training and education. Focus areas include chronic disease management and prevention, quality and patient safety, behavioral health, emergency preparedness, care coordination, technology adoption, and workforce challenges.
“We are gratified that CMS selected IPRO to conduct this important work,” said Ted Will, CEO of IPRO. “As an organization with a 40-year track record of federally recognized excellence in healthcare quality improvement, IPRO is well positioned to leverage its extensive relationships with clinical providers and leading organizations across these two regions to achieve the QIN-QIO Program’s goals.”
“We look forward to helping advance safer, more efficient and effective healthcare delivery systems throughout the 13 states and three territories in Regions 1 and 2,” said Clare Bradley, MD, MPH, IPRO’s Sr. Vice President and Chief Medical Officer.
