Early Intervention Quality Improvement Monitoring

States are responsible under Part C of the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) to ensure that infants and toddlers with disabilities receive the early intervention services afforded to them under state and federal law. State early intervention monitoring programs help to assure both the quality and value of these services.

Maternal and Child Health Programs

Due to changes in standards of care, medical technology, hospital mergers, and the health care system in general, the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) is working with IPRO in a multi-year process to review and update the standards for perinatal hospital level requirements, conduct site visits, assign new designations, and development of performance measures for perinatal hospitals and birthing centers.
